    New ATP tennis model analysis

We’ve already had a look at the new upgraded wta model, and the results since the upgrade were fantastic. Only 91 bets were suggested in the latter half of 2010 with the new wta model, but with a 21% return on investment, the new wta model is looking very promising. Our previous analysis of the…

    Five set bias in tennis

With Wimbledon just about to start, it is interesting that not many people know or understand the dynamics between a 5 set and 3 set match. Only 4 times a year, not including a couple of one-off finals matches are 5 set matches held for men, and the difference between betting favourites and underdogs on…

Sportpunter NBA. Odds Analysis Part 2

We previously (http://www.sportpunter.com/2017/10/sportpunter-nba-odds-analysis-part-1/ ) looked at how the Sportpunter NBA model had done as the season progresses, but how much of that is random variation and how much is a true reflection of how powerful the model actually is? One way to analyse how good the model is is comparing our bets to the Pinnacle…

Davis cup bias in home/away players

With Davis Cup coming this weekend, I thought it was a good opportunity to find out how well the model goes. Many people would say that the Davis cup is a completely different game compared to normal tournaments, and if you have been to several countries which host it, I’m pretty sure that you will…

    New ATP Analysis from 2005-2011

The ATP tennis season starts in only a few days with the Hopman Cup set to start on new years day. Previously I had a look at how the new model had done last year with good results. Today, I have the results going back to the start of 2005. Results are shown below, and…

    NRL Season to begin Thursday

The NRL season is set to star this Thursday and once again Sportpunter are giving out predictions. Every day that there are matches at 11.30am predictions will be uploaded, and hopefully they will be as successful as the past. For the past three years that we have had a player based model, we have seen…

  1. How many seasons does this cover?
The results pages show 8 seasons and 892 h2h bets but this analysis has 1239 bets?

  2. Actually, on closer examination of the history I find it doesn’t add up. I had deducted the current season’s 8 bets from the 900 total but if I add the 9 completed seasons I get 1192 !
